Specializing in Workers’ Compensation, Auto Injuries & Federal Claims throughout the United States. Get the care, support, and claim assistance you deserve from experienced union physicians to achieve maximum medical recovery.
At Doctors’ Council 22, we are a trusted network of board-certified physicians committed to providing exceptional injury care services for workplace injuries, auto accidents, and federal claims. All our doctors are union members who understand the unique challenges workers face when dealing with on-the-job injuries. We not only focus on delivering high-quality medical care, but we also guide patients through complex claim processes with compassion and precision.
We specialize in:
Complete treatment and claim support for work-related injuries under state and federal laws handled by union-trusted physicians.
Quick, expert care with full legal documentation for accident victims—custom recovery plans tailored to your case.
Specialized care for maritime workers, meeting federal standards and ensuring strong claim support from start to finish.
You should report your injury to your supervisor or management as soon as you are aware of the injury. Timely reporting is very important.
You have the right to choose your treating doctor. You do not have to be treated by the company doctor; however, the law does allow your employer to have you see the company doctor for an initial visit.
The emergency room doctor is not considered to be your treating dr.
You must file a formal claim with the US Department of Labor within 1 year.
You are entitled to compensation benefits if you are unable to work based on all wages earned in the 52 weeks prior to your injury.
You may receive disability compensation for a portion of your wages if you are unable to work.
You will need an impairment rating or Functional Capacity Evaluation once you finish treatment.
Under Law, your employer can not terminate you for filing a workers’ compensation claim.

YOU CAN COUNT ON YOUR UNION PHYSICIANS FOR QUALITY CARE AND
ASSISTANCE-WE WORK FOR YOU!
Notify Your Supervisor Immediately: You must inform your supervisor as soon as an injury occurs, as failing to report in a timely manner can lead to a denial of your claim.
Request the Correct OWCP Forms:
For a traumatic injury, ask for Form CA-1 (Federal Employee’s Notice of Traumatic Injury & Claim for Continuation of Pay/Compensation).
For an occupational disease or illness, file Form CA-2 (Notice of Occupational Disease & Claim for Compensation).
Obtain Medical Authorization: Request a signed Form CA-16 (Authorization for Examination and/or Treatment) from your supervisor and present it to your healthcare provider to guarantee payment by the agency.
Seek Immediate Medical Care: You should get medical attention right away to prevent further injury and to begin the medical documentation necessary for future compensation claims under FECA laws.
Exercise Your Right to Choose a Doctor: You have the legal right to choose your own treating physician of record; you are not required to see an agency-provided doctor.
Submit All Documentation: Ensure that all relevant medical information and appropriate OWCP forms are submitted to support a successful claim outcome.
Maintain Consistent Treatment: Continue seeing your doctor until you are officially released; stopping treatment without authorization could be viewed as “abandonment of treatment” and may result in a claim denial.
